Girl's Dress Code The keys to the PPPCS dress code are NEATNESS, APPROPRIATENESS, and MODESTY! Skirts, Skorts, and Jumpers 1. Skirts and jumpers are to reach no higher than the middle of the knee while standing. 2. Skirts, and jumpers, and skorts should not rise immodestly while seated. 3. Skirts and skorts may not be rolled at the waistline. 4. Girls are strongly encouraged to wear shorts beneath jumpers and skirts. 5. Skirts and shorts are to be worn above the hips. Shirts 1. Shirts must be tucked in. 2. Shirts may not be excessively tight, see-through, or revealing. 3. Shirts are to be long enough that no midriff is exposed when the hands and arms are lifted. 4. Shirts are to be buttoned entirely at all times, with the exception of the top button. Shoes 1. Shoes must have closed toes and heels: no sandals, clogs, or flip-flops. 2. Athletic shoes may be worn, with shoelaces fastened appropriately at all times. 3. No "roller-skate" type athletic shoes may be worn at school. 4. Boots or overshoes may be worn in the winter, but must be removed and left by the door or location specified by the teacher. 5. Socks, hose, or tights are to be worn at all times. Jewelry and Accessories 1. No body piercings are allowed, except earrings (maximum 1 per ear) (maximum 1 inch earrings) 2. One necklace only, maximum 3 bracelets. New Age, occult, gang, and drug culture are not allowed. 3. Hats, caps, scarves, and bandannas may not be worn in the school building. 4. Sunglasses or dark glasses may not be worn in the school building. 5. No belts are to be worn with girls' uniforms. 6. Tattoos are unacceptable and need to covered at all times. 7. Makeup is inappropriate for school. 8. All jewelery and accessories are expected to be in good taste and not contradictory to Christian philosophy. Hair 1. Hair must be neat and well-kept at all times. 2. No alternative hairstyles or extreme hair colors. 3. Use good hygiene and good taste. Outerwear 1. No coats, sweaters, or hoodies are to be worn inside, unless they are uniform sweaters. Uniform fleece may be worn in class at the teacher's discretion. 2. Outerwear may not be tied around the waist or worn during the day. Undergarments 1. Appropriate undergarments must be worn and out of sight at all times (i.e., clothes should not be worn tight enough to see undergarment lines). Shirts must be buttoned at all times, except for the top button. 3. The sleeves of any shirt worn beneath the uniform shirt must not extend beyond the sleeve of the uniform short. Pants, Undergarments, and Outerwear 1. Pants are to be worn above the hips. 2. Undergarments are not to be visible above the waistline of the pants. 3. Undershirts are to be solid colored, with no slogans or logos contrary to Christian philosophy. Hair, Shoes, and Outerwear 1. Hair: see "Girls' Dress Code: Hair" 2. Shoes: see "Girls' Dress Code: Shoes" 3. Outerwear: see "Girls' Dress Code: Outerwear" Jewelery and Accessories 1. No ear or body piercings. 2. One silver or gold necklace only, one ring only. New Age, drug culture, gang or occult symbols are prohibited. 3. Hats, caps, bandannas, wave caps, and sunglasses are not allowed within the school building. 4. Belts must always be worn, no large or ostentatious belt buckles are allowed. 5. Tattoos are unacceptable and must be covered at all times. 6. All jewelry and accessories are expected to be in good taste and not contradictory to Christian philosophy. Kindergarteners should have a COMPLETE set of extra clothing (including underwear and socks) at school at all times in case of emergency. (Extra clothes need not be a regular uniform.) Please label each article and send in a bag on the first day of school. Please label all of your child's belongings, including mittens and hats. We do have a "lost and found" box, but we reserve the right to donate all unclaimed items at the end of the year.
